Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Institute of Philosophy held the Republican conference on “Education and Jalil Mammadguluzadeh’s social-ideological views”.

The event was opened by ANAS Vice-President, academician Isa Habibbayli and said that, the conference was held by the Presidential Decree dated January 17, 2019 “On the celebration of Jalil Mammadguluzade’s the 150th anniversary”. He noted that, according to the above mentioned document, a number of conferences are being held by scientific institutions and organizations, as well as regular articles in the press regarding of academician Jalil Mammadguluzadeh’s creativity are published.

He stressed that, a return to the legacy of J.Mammadguluzade will give a new dimension to the national-moral ideas, stressing the importance of strengthening the Azerbaijani ideology. The exceptional merits of Mirza Jalil are in the development of democratic thinking in Azerbaijan in the early 20th century, the ideas of independent statehood of the republican type, as well as the revival of the memory of the borders of our historical territories.

Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Ilham Mammadzade stated that, national and universal values are reflected in the writer's works, and the humorous and critical approach in his stories gave rise to a national revival and development of the ideas of freedom in the early 20th century.

During the event, a number of reports were delivered.
