The scientific session on the topic "Academician Mammad Jafar Jafarov: Theory of Literature and Literary Process" was held at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS.

Vice President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the importance of President Ilham Aliyev's order dated April 15, 2019 "On celebrating the 110th anniversary of academician Mammad Jafar Jafarov".

He talked about the scientific activity of academician Mammad Jafar Jafarov, who occupied a special place in the history of Azerbaijan literary studies. The scientist is one of the main creators of the Azerbaijan Literature School, and created a scientific school in literary criticism. He is the founder of the scientific-theoretical concept of literary trends in Azerbaijani literature. The scientist wrote fundamental works on the history of the country and world literature, the theory of literature and aesthetics, philosophy, he said.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli underlined that the theoretical analysis and generalizations have a special place in the works of a literary scholar. He is the author of more than 700 scientific articles, over 30 books, monographs and textbooks.

Later, the head of the department of literature theory, Professor Tahira Mammad made a report on "The problem of classical heritage and linguophoetics in the work of Mamed Jafar Jafarov”.
