Nazim Mammadov, a professor at the University of Massachusetts, USA, made a presentation on "Alternative Perspective Medicinal Plants for Azerbaijan" at the seminar at the ANAS Institute of Dendrology.

The speaker provided detailed information on the medicinal plants used in the treatment and prevention of various diseases. He said that the medicinal properties of herbal plants are related to the presence of physiologically active ingredients.

At the seminar, the participants discussed the scientific and research work carried out in the field of purchasing of biologically active substances, their food and cosmetics, as well as their application in pharmacology from precious medicines and essential oils spread in the flora of Azerbaijan and America.

Director of the Institute of Dendrology, correspondent member of ANAS Tofig Mammadov expressed confidence that cooperation with the authoritative USA university would yield good results.

Prof. Nazim Mammadov praised the activities of the Dendrology Institute and said that it was expedient to exchange staff and experience between the university and this scientific institution.

In the end, the guest was closely acquainted with the Herbaria Foundation, which is equipped with modern equipment, endemic and herbal medicinal plants at the Dendrology Institute.
