Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On June 18, at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS the presentation of the first volume of "History of Azerbaijan Literature", prepared on the basis of the new concept was held.

Vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the necessity to prepare the first volume of the book "History of Azerbaijan Literature" with a new scientific concept. He noted that the new edition was published in collaboration with ANAS Institute of Literature, Folklore and Linguistics, Baku State University and Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan. The three principles of the book are based on the principles of science, nationalism and statehood.

Academician I.Habibbayli emphasized that the book is a valuable contribution to the scientific community and researchers.

Then, the responsible editor of the first volume of the "History of Azerbaijan Literature", Doctor of Philology, Professor Maharram Gasimli gave detailed information about the book.

It was noted that the publication was devoted to the "Folk literature", which is the primary source of the development of written and folk literature in the historical-chronological aspect. The book presents the mythological sources of our national literature, rich examples of oral folk literature, originally epistemological evolutionary processes from ethnos to artistic thinking and artistic creativity on the basis of high scientific-theoretical essays.

Director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, academician Mukhtar Imanov, head of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, academician Nizami Jafarov, professors Gazanfar Pashayev and Gazanfar Kazimov, responsible secretary of the publication Aynur Khalilova and others shared their impressions about the book.
