ANAS Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory the exhibition of Woodcuts paintings (Xylography).

By offer of the Director of ShAO, corresponding member of ANAS Namig Jalilov the exhibition presents portraits about 40th  famous statesmen, world geniuses and scholars, authored by head of editorial board of the Research Center “Azerbaijan National Encyclopaedia” poet and artist Huseyn Mirtagavi.

The portraits, created by a surgical knife on plywood, are considered one of the rarest examples of art in the world and for the first time presented at an exhibition in Azerbaijan.

The artist presented the original painting technique for the participants and demonstrated the electronic version of other works. The exhibition will last one week.
