Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Ganja Division held the 65th anniversary of head of the laboratory, Ph.D in Chemistry Mahira Sharifova.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Ganja Division, academician Fuad Aliyev noted on the effective scientific activities of a chemical scientist. He added that, M.Sharifova is head of the laboratory of the Institute of Ecology and Natural Resources.

She is responsible for certification, research and reuse of industrial waste in the western region, which is aimed at solving environmental problems that are important for our lives. M.Sharifova is the author of more than 100 scientific papers, 2 patents and 2 copyright certificates. The results of her research over the years have been published by prestigious scientific journals all around the world.

Academician F.Aliyev noted that, M.Sharifova is also the deputy editor-in-chief of the “Xəbərlər” journal, which is included in the register of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She won two grant projects announced by Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the event, speakers noted the scientist's contribution to the field of chemistry. It was noted that, M.Sharifova also played an invaluable role in the training of highly qualified personnel. She has transmitted all herknowledge and rich experience to young researchers.

In conclusion, M.Sharifova applauded the participants of the meeting for their kind words and congratulations to her.
