Book-album "Values and Symbols of Painting by Akmal Nur" published in Uzbekistan

The book-album “Values and Symbols of Painting by Akmal Nur” in Russian and English authored by Director of ANAS Institute of Architecture and Art, corresponding member of ANAS Salamzade Ertegin was published in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The album contains about 200 works by the outstanding Uzbek artist, People's Artist of Uzbekistan, chairman of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Nur.

The painting of A.Nur is an inexhaustible source of information, both artistic-figurative, valuable, and symbolic. The organic unity of the traditions of Uzbek culture and the modern visual language can be called the main feature of its artistic style. The general picture of Akmal Nur’s work: from nature to culture, from personality to family, from individual consciousness to collective symbols.

The theme of loneliness, suffering, but in a place with that and transformation on the master’s canvases is almost exclusively a lonely masculine image with a characteristic iconography. A characteristic feature of A. Nur’s creativity is a smooth flow from topic to topic, from one image to another within its framework. The theme of loneliness smoothly flows into the theme of family. One of the first works on this subject was the work “Family” (1981).

Painting by Akml Nur is not only deeply symbolic, but also mythological. The artist most feels himself in the framework of a cyclical, doubles, marriage and family myth.

Note that, the ceremony was held at the Central Exhibition Gallery of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
