Presentation of monographs devoted to Nakhchivan dialects

The monographs “Vocabulary of dialects and dialects of Nakhchivan” by head of the linguistics Department of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature of ANAS Nakhchivan Division, Ph.D in Philology, associate Professor Nuray Aliyeva and a leading researcher in the same department, Ph.D in Philology, associate professor Zulfiya Ismail “Dialects and dialects Nakhchivan in the Turkic culture” published.

Director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev spoke on the main tasks facing linguistic science, and noted the importance of research by the staff of the Department of Linguistics dedicated to the study of our native language.

Speaking on the relevance of the monographs presented today to the public, the linguist noted that the monograph “The vocabulary of dialects and dialects of Nakhchivan” was published by publishing house “Gecə Akademi” in Turkey and “Dialects and dialects of Nakhchivan in the common Turkic culture” was published by German publishing house “Lambert Academic Publishing".

Next, reports were delivered by head of the department’s onomastics Department, Ph.D in Philology, associate professor Firudin Rzayev on “Valuable work on the vocabulary of the Nakhchivan dialects” and a researcher at the Department of Folklore studies, PhD in Philology Aytan Jafarova on “Another successful step in studying the Nakhchivan dialects general Turkic context”.

It was noted that, book, devoted to the vocabulary of the Nakhchivan dialects, examines and proves the role of the Nakhchivan and East Anatolian dialects in Turkish culture based on rich dialectological materials. The material is useful for the dialectology of the Azerbaijani language, the history of our literary language, vocabulary and the art of oral speech, ethnography and the history of our people as a whole.

Speaking at the event, leading researcher at the Department of Folklore, Ph.D in Philology Chinara Rzayeva and chief specialist at the Department of Education and Personnel, PhD in Philology Leyla Safarova noted that, both monographs are valuable sources for linguists.

In conclusion, the authors emphasized the role of organized expeditions in the territory of Nakhchivan in the preparation of monographs and collection of linguistic material.
