Zagatala Executive Power, ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center, Sheki branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University organized a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi.

First, conference participants laid flowers on monument of great leader Heydar Aliyev in Zagatala and honored his memory.

Speaking at the event, held at the Heydar Aliyev Center Ph.D. in Physical and Mathematical sciences Yusif Shukurlu said that, the announcement of 2019 as a Year of Nasimi by the Order of AR President Ilham Aliyev is a sign of great attention to the work of the great thinker. It was noted that, the Scientific Center held a series of events dedicated to the anniversary of the poet.

Yusif Shukurlu informed on the rich literary heritage of the great thinker and his position in Azerbaijani literature, said that Nasimi, who was a lyric poet had a difficult career.

Poems dedicated to love or nature secretly expressed his critical thoughts on life and society. Nasimi's artistic work is an important milestone in the development of Azerbaijani poetry and literary language.

The scientific and practical conference continued its work with plenary presentations.

Then, head of the Sheki branch of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan Vagif Aslan delivered paper on “Sufi Symbols in Nasimi's Works”, PhD in History Vusal Bakhishov on “Features of the historical and political aspect of the Nasimi era”, PhD in Philology Kamil Adishirinov on “Nasimi in Azerbaijan scientific and imaginative literature", etc.
