On June 18, 2014 at ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics the all-republican scientific seminar in the field of Earth Sciences was held. At the action was presented the report of the employee of Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Doctor Tofik Bakharov on “Mechanisms of formation of large-scale deposits of hydrocarbons in depths of the Southern Caspian pool”. T.Bakharov noted that questions of formation of large-scale deposits of hydrocarbons in depths of the Southern Caspian pool and preservation of collector features in rocks are one of fundamental scientific problems of oil geology. It was noted that the vertical and horizontal tension making formation of large-scale deposits of hydrocarbons in depths of the Southern Caspian pool was investigated, and also the evolutionary and revolutionary periods of the mechanism of formation and development of fields for these periods of time, their tectonic violations, etc. were studied. It is established that in South Caspian basin the pool process of formation and destruction of large-scale deposits of hydrocarbons proceeds. Further modeling of the above processes both in local, and in regional scales will create conditions for investigation and increase of efficiency of development and an exact assessment of potential opportunities of fields.
