A Turkish scientist who studies Ashug art has visited the Folklore Institute

Nejdet Kurt, a Turkish researcher on Ashug art, visited the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.

At the meeting with the director of the enterprise, academician Mukhtar Imanov and head of the Department of Music Folklore Professor Naila Rahimbeyli spoke about the scientific activity of the Turkish researcher. It has been said that Kurt has been interested in folk music since his childhood and studied the folk songs of Tokat and Amasya regions. He has also made speeches at international symposiums in Greece, Kosovo, Georgia and Kazakhstan along with Turkey. He has also performed in Germany, Austria, Australia, Greece, the Netherlands, Kosovo and Kazakhstan. Kurt is a well-known scholar and author of over 30 articles and 3 books.

It is noted that the Turkish scientist intends to study the works of Ashug Shanlik and Ashig Veysel, as well as the features of the Sivas ashug environment.

During his stay in Baku, Nejdet Kurt also met with Ashig artists and exchanged ideas with them.
