On October 30, Institute of Oil and Gas of ANAS has hosted the next educational workshop on the European Commission's program "Horizon 2020".
The three-day event was attended by academician-secretary of the Division of Earth Sciences of ANAS, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, employees of scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy, representatives of other scientific and educational institutions of Azerbaijan, as well as scientists from Austria and Germany.
Opening the worshop, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov said today the integration of our scientists into the world science is of great importance and underlined the importance of the Horizon 2020 program in this regard.
Then Martin Felix Gajdusek, project manager and researcher at the Austrian Center for Social Innovation, and Matthias Wurch, a research fellow at the German Aerospace Center, spoke about Horizon 2020 and noted that the project, with a budget of € 80 billion, aims to conduct research on industrialization of innovation and scientific research, healthy life and food security in the community, environmental protection, efficient use of energy and other natural resources.
Later on, M.F. Gajdusek and M. Wurch delivered lectures on following topics: “Overview of H2020: a short overview of key elements of H2020 and a short outlook on the upcoming Horizon Europe”, “Focus on specific funding lines: discussing specific aspects and call conditions of funding lines of particular interest”, “How to understand a call and decode its content – an interactive group work”, also responded attendees’ questions.
