Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Sheki Regional Scientific Center of ANAS (SRSC) PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Yusif Shukurlu and a researcher at the institution Zarintaj Shukurova took part in the XXV International Congress of Sericulture, held in Tsukuba, Japan.

At an international event, Azerbaijani scientists delivered lectures on topics "The effect of selenium on the supromolecular structure and termic features of the fibroin of Bombyx mori L" and “Development prospects of large peacock-eye bombyx kind in Azerbaijan as a branch of silkworm”.

Both lectures aroused great interest of the participants, and the results obtained by SRSC employees were highly appreciated. The parties agreed to conduct joint research with Japanese scientists and specialists, and decided to sign an agreement in this regard at the event.

Note that, the results obtained will allow developing innovative methods and means of silk production in Azerbaijan, expanding the prospects for using silk products.
