International symposium on “Industrial Commitments: contribution to archaeology and cultural Heritage” was held at the Stone Chronicle Museum in the State Flag Square.

The event was organized upon an initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and with the support of BP Azerbaijan, “Icharishahar” State History and Architecture Reserve Department, “AzerGold” CJSC, and “Atelier Erich Pummer”, the Austrian company.

Main purpose of the symposium was to present the projects carried out by various companies to the public towards protection of cultural heritage, share the experience on such activities, as well as, make an in-depth study and outreach of archeological findings discovered during excavation works.

Speaking at the international event, director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Professor Maisa Rahimova spoke about the comprehensive support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and BP in organizing recent archeological researches and expeditions.

The representatives of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, “Icharishahar” State History and Architecture Reserve Department, “AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company, BP Azerbaijan, Georgian National Museum made presentations and enlightened the participators on recent actions taken for the protection of cultural heritage.

Note that, exposition which included various examples of material-cultural heritage discovered during the excavations was opened and demonstrated under the event. The exposition will be exhibited in “Dash Salnama” Museum for 6 months.

Then, conference continued its work with plenary sessions.
