Presentation of 12 volumes of “Azerbaijan's Intangible Cultural Monuments and Ertugrol Javid”

On December 16, the Azerbaijan Composers' Union presented a 12-volume book "Azerbaijan's Intangible Cultural Monuments and Ertugrol Javid" and a compilation of notes by Azerbaijani composers.

The event, co-organized by the Union of Azerbaijani Composers and the House Museum of Huseyn Javid of ANAS, was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Ertugrol Javid.

At the event, Chairman of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, People's Artist, corresponding Member of ANAS Firangiz Alizadeh spoke about the difficult and arduous life way of composer Ertugrol Javid, son of the great poet and playwright Huseyn Javid. He said that despite his short life, Ertugrol Javid is known for his versatile and rich activities.

Alizadeh noted that Ertugrol Javid, who received his higher education at the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute, received his musical education in the class of Uzeyir Hajibeyli at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory and also taught at the music school at the conservatory. During 1938-1942, he was involved in collecting and researching examples of folklore samples during his time working in the scientific study of folk music under the direction of Bulbul.

It was reported that the book "Musical Works", published on the 100th anniversary of Ertugrol Javid, who managed to be selected for his brilliant talent, is from chain of "Chronicle of Ertugrol Javid's Life." The book contains about 40 composers' works. The publication is based on manuscripts preserved in the House Museum of Huseyn Javid of ANAS.

Then academician-secretary of the Division of Humanitarian Sciences, director of the Institute of Manuscripts, academician Teymur Kerimli, director of Huseyn Javid's House Museum, Doctor of Philological Sciences Gulbaniz Babakhanli, People's Artist Tofig Bakikhanov highlighted the role of Ertogrol Javid in history of Azerbaijan culture.
