At the meeting of the expanded Academic Council of the Institute of History of ANAS, a presentation of the German edition of the book "Iravan Khanate: Russian Conquest and the Relocation of Armenians to the Lands of Northern Azerbaijan" was held.

The book "Iravan Khanate" was written at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev.

The scientific editor of the book and the project manager is the director of the Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov, translator and editor-laureate of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Professor Saadat Zeynalova.

The publication begins with a broad introduction by Yagub Mahmudov on topic “The resettlement of Armenians to the lands of Northern Azerbaijan in the 19th century is a historical fact.”

Opening the presentation, Yagub Mahmudov said that the new publication is a serious message for the Armenians, their patrons, the world community as a whole. The scientist noted that the book has already been published in several languages - Turkish, English, Russian, Romanian, Italian, Arabic and Spanish.

According to the academician, the territory of the modern Republic of Armenia in the recent past - at the beginning of the 19th century was the land of the Azerbaijani state, which was the Irevan Khanate. The Armenian state in the South Caucasus was first created in 1918. Armenian vandals razed more than 300 mosques on the territory of the Irevan Khanate, including the city of Irevan. Currently, Armenian vandalism continues in the occupied territories of Karabakh.

Scientists Tofig Mustafazadeh, Guntekin Najafli, Saadat Zeynalova, Kerim Shukurov, Haji Hasanov also spoke at the event. It was stated that the book in various languages of the world was presented in Italy, Romania, Egypt, Kuwait and other countries. The historical science of Azerbaijan with fundamental works on the history of the Irevan Khanate, Karabakh and Nakhchivan dealt a crushing blow to Armenian falsifiers. For all these successes, President Ilham Aliyev awarded the State Prize of Azerbaijan to 13 employees of the Institute of History.
