Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAS), Institute of Geography of ANAS and the Republican Center for Seismological Survey signed a memorandum of understanding on trilateral cooperation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, rector of the university Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, noted that the university cooperates with many scientific organizations, state institutions and companies in order to improve personnel training and enhance practical skills of students. Noting that the work of both the Institute of Geography and the Republican Center for Seismological Survey is close to the construction sector, the rector expressed confidence that the ties established with both organizations will play a positive role.

Speaking further, director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov praised the work done in recent years on the integration of science and education in AUAC.

Director General of the Center, corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli said that there is a direct link between the construction sector and seismology. Emphasizing the importance of seismic assessment of these areas before the construction of new buildings, G. Yetirmishli cited as an example the location of the city of Baku on a complex terrain.

Later on, the parties signed memorandums of understanding and cooperation.
