International conference on “Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh in the system of values of independence, democracy and statehood” was held on January 30 at the initiative of the Public Group “Museum of Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh”.

The conference was attended by historians from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Iran, Turkey, Poland and Germany.

After the opening of the conference, Professor Solmaz Rustamova-Tohidi opened the conference with a welcoming speech and spoke about the life and creativity of M.A. Rasulzadeh. She said that, he was a prominent Azerbaijani statesman and public figure, a great thinker, politician and publicist, one of the founders of the Azerbaijan People Republic.

Then the conference continued at the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS. The director of the museum, academician Naila Valikhanli spoke about the services of M.A. Rasulzadeh before our people. He pointed out that the national leader Heydar Aliyev greatly appreciated the heritage of M.A. Rasulzadeh and visited his grave in Ankara. He noted that President Ilham Aliyev has signed relevant decrees on the 130th anniversary of M.A. Rasulzadeh in 2014 and 100th anniversary of the People Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018.

Chairman of the United Diaspora of the Azerbaijanis of Ukraine Dr. Hikmat Javadov, a member of the French Higher School of Public Studies prof. Georgi Mamulia, Head Department of History of Azerbaijan at Berlin Humboldt University prof. Eva-Maria Aux, Professor of the Institute for Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences Grigori Novik and others.
