By organization of Joint Trade Union Committee of ANAS, an educational event was held for employees of the Institutes of Literature, Philosophy, History, Economics, Physics, Soil Science and Agrochemistry in connection with coronavirus.

At the event, head of the Occupational Health and Environmental Protection Department of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Yasamal District, Sevinj Aghalarova, epidemiologists Kamal Jalilova and Sabira Mammadova informed employees about the virus and how to combat it. It was noted that, according to the relevant instructions of the country's president, awareness-raising campaigns on coronavirus and methods of control were carried out, and preventive measures were strengthened in the country and at border points.

It was noted that the disease, first detected in animals in 1960, infected people in subsequent years and in 2003 appeared as a severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), affecting the upper respiratory tract in 774 people, and in 2012 - as a Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome, which caused the death of 862 people. At the event, it was noted that a new type of coronavirus found in Wuhan, China, was called the World Health Organization COVID-19, a virus that infects the lower respiratory tract. In addition, according to official data from the Chinese authorities, the number of infected people exceeded 44,600, and the death toll reached 1,113.

One of the main symptoms of the disease is headache, fever, cough, sneezing, loss of appetite, upset gastrointestinal tract. Epidemiologists touched on the importance of regular preventive measures - wash hands more often, use alcohol, increase immunity, and take vitamin C.

It was also brought to the attention that according to the decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, special chambers were created at the Scientific Research Institute of Pulmonary Diseases, as well as at the Clinical Medical Center to strengthen preventive measures against coronavirus.
