Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli of ANAS has published the book “Isgandar bey Melikov’s “Yakhsiligha yamanlig”. The book was prepared for publication by Sabina Ahmadova, a senior researcher at the Department of Persian Manuscripts Research of the Institute of Manuscripts, PhD in Philology. The chief scientific adviser of the publication is academician Teymur Karimli, and the editor is Haji Mustafa Mailoglu.

The book presents the play "Yakhsiligha yamanlig” written in 1898 by Isgandar bey Melikov, an Azerbaijani oil entrepreneur, who in the second half of the XIX century had exceptional services in the field of national theater and education. The theme of the play, which consists of four assemblies, is the bitter consequences of religious fanaticism and ignorance prevailing in the society at that time, and the struggle of the positive heroes against them.
