Under the leadership of the first vice-president of ANAS academician Ibrahim Guliyev, Office of External Relations of the Bureau of the Presidium has organized a webinar on topic “Horizon 2020 in a pandemic: medical research”. The moderator of the webinar was Esmira Alirzayeva, PhD in Biology, office head.
First of all, E. Alirzayeva informed about the possibilities of the Horizon 2020 program, the participation of Azerbaijani scientists in these projects and the Network of National Contact Points for Horizon 2020.
At the event, lectures were presented by members of the Network of National Contact Points in relevant areas.
Head of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, PhD in Technology Tofig Babayev in his lecture entitled “Opportunities for participation in European research framework programs for researchers from different countries” has introduced the financial possibilities of the Horizon 2020 program, the rules for preparing projects and presentation requirements projects.
Then the National Coordinator for Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Bioeconomics and Biotechnology, PhD in Medicine Nabil Seidov presented a lecture on “COVID-19 and Opportunities for Scientific Cooperation Projects,” the National Coordinator for Health, Demographic Change and Prosperity, PhD in Medicine Rahima Gabulova - “Project Opportunities in the Field of Health, Demographic Change and Prosperity” under the Horizon 2020, National Euroatom oordinator Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the National Cancer Center Fuad Novruzov - “The Importance of Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography in COVID-19-Like Pneumonia”, National Coordinator for the European Research Center and COST Ilham Humbatov - “Opportunities for the development of science in Azerbaijan in the framework of the program COST ”, national coordinator for the scholarship program of Maria Skłodowska-Curie for training and career development, PhD in history Zaur Hasanov – “EURAXESS: Project Opportunities in framework of Maria Sklodowska-Curie program for COVID-19”.
The deputy director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS, PhD in Biology Alamdar Mammadov also announced a new project, to which he joined the scientific institution for COST. He called on Azerbaijani scientists and specialists in the field of medicine, biology and other fields to work together on a detailed study of COVID-19.
