In modern times, the demand for biofuels, which provide less emissions, is uplifting due to the increase in the amount of toxic substances in the air of combustion products, which disturbs the ecological balance of the environment. Taking this into account, scientific research has been conducted on the production of biodiesel from vegetable oils and the preparation of diesel fuel compositions based on it.

This was stated in an interview with Lala Mahmudova, a researcher at the Laboratory of Fuel Additives of the Institute of Chemistry of Additives named after acad. Ali Guliyev of ANAS.

According to the requirements of the Euro-3 standard, it is planned to add 5-7% of alkyle esters of fatty acids obtained from the transfection of vegetable oils with monohydric alcohols to traditional diesel fuel, but is intended to increase this to 15% in the near future, she said.

L. Mahmudova noted that this was possible by obtaining biodiesel from various vegetable oils, studying the operational properties of fuel compositions based on purchased biodiesel and conventional diesel fuel.

The obtained innovation can be applied in the High Technologies Park of ANAS. Research can make a significant contribution to socially oriented economic construction.
