On May 23, an online meeting of the Presidium of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS was held.

Initially, the chairman of the division, academician Ismail Hajiyev introduced the participants to the issues on the agenda.

Then the lecture of the director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, corresponding member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev on topic “Translation activity of Muhammad-aga Shakhtakhtli” was listened. After that, the scientist answered numerous questions of the participants in the meeting.

At the event, head of the Department of Science and Education, PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Orkhan Bagirov talked about the work done in the scientific institution in connection with the order of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic “On additional measures to provide guardianship over specialties in higher and Specialized Secondary Educational Institutions and Supporting Innovation ”dated April 3, 2019. He said that under the guardianship students of Nakhchivan State University, studying in the specialties “History”, “Translation (from Persian into Azerbaijani)”, “Translation (from Arabic into Azerbaijani)”, “Biology” and “Physics”, visited in departments and laboratories, as well as in the Museum of Archeology, Ethnography and Nature of the Nakhchivan Division.

It was noted that with the participation of students in the Presidium of the division, 2 events were held, in institutes - one scientific conference, 10 scientific and practical seminars, 5 open lessons (one - online because of the pandemic). At the same time, discussions were organized to discuss current issues and trainings on various topics.

Further, the director of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology, corresponding member of ANAS Fakhraddin Safarli, head department of this institute, corresponding member of ANAS Vali Bakhshaliev, director of the Manuscripts Fund, doctor of philological sciences Farman Khalilov and Deputy Director of the Institute of Bioresources for science, doctor of biological sciences Ismail Mammadov reported.

After that, discussions were held in the Presidium, the heads of institutes were charged relevant instructions.

During the event, head of the Finance and Accounting Department of the division Hanifa Hanifayev spoke about the state of the Botanical Garden and the level of productivity of fruit orchards in the territory of the Biochemical Research Laboratory located in the Ordubad district.

In conclusion, some scientific, organizational and current issues were considered.
