Employees of the Institute of Caucasus Studies took part in an online conference in Russia

Head of the Caucasus Policy Department of the Institute of Caucasus Studies of ANAS, PhD in History Elnur Kalbizadeh and employee of the North Caucasus Department Shahnaz Tagiyeva attended an online conference on "Russian entrepreneurship: history of development, experience and place in political and economic discourse" organized by Karachay-Cherkessia State University.

In the plenary session of the conference, PhD in History Elnur Kalbizadeh delivered a lecture on "The place of Nakhchivan in the Azerbaijani-Polish economic and humanitarian relations."

The lecture discusses economic and humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Poland from history to the present day. Kalbizadeh said that Nakhchivan was separated from the main part of Azerbaijan as a result of the establishment of the Armenian state in the historical territories of Western Azerbaijan in 1918, the concession of the city of Irevan to Armenia as the capital, and the transfer of Zangazur region to the Armenian SSR in the 1920s. As a result, the autonomous status of Nakhchivan within Azerbaijan has become a necessity.

At the international event, Shahnaz Tagiyeva presented a lecture on "Social and economic development of Dagestan as an important factor in relations with Azerbaijan." The lecture touched upon the role and importance of Azerbaijan in the socio-economic development of Dagestan.
