Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Head of the Geomechanics and tectonophysics department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) of ANAS Hatam Guliyev became founder and member of the Oxford Academic Union of Great Britain. The new organization was created according to the memorandum signed at the Oxford Summit of scientists and educators. The event, organized by the European Business Assembly, in addition to Azerbaijan was represented by more than 30 states. On proposal by summit organizing committee, H. Guliyev has been among the founders of the Union. Azerbaijani scientists also received a certificate of membership in the organization.

At the summit organized round table discussed such topics as “University of the Future”, “Forms of effective integration of education, science and industry” and “Improving the educational process.”

In conclusion, the event was held the ceremony of awarding the winners of the International Competition “University of the Future.” They were awarded with diplomas and certificates.

Also meeting was held with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Thames Valley and visit to Windsor Castle.

During his trip, academician has met with officials of Bp. urrent stage of research conducted jointly with IHH has been discussed. The sides expressed confidence that the work carried out in the priority research areas will give significant results and will be able to prepare the scientific basis of the latest technologies. It was noted that the need to promote international cooperation aimed at the realization of these objectives.
