Discussed the successful results of the archaeological expedition of Kharaba Gilan

An event dedicated to the results of the archaeological expedition of Kharaba Gilan, who conducted research on the territory of the Ordubad region, was held in the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS.

Opening the event, the chairman of the division, academician Ismail Hajiyev, spoke about the historical significance of the finds during archaeological excavations in the autonomous republic. According to him, the archaeological expedition of Kharaba Gilan has been conducting archaeological excavations in the Ordubad region for more than 15 years. The academician noted that the successful results of research carried out in Plovdagh, Aza, Delme gala were reflected in monographs and scientific articles published in different years.

Then the head of the department of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. in History Bahlul Ibrahimli informed about the final results of the excavations carried out by the archaeological expedition of Kharaba Gilan. According to him, this year the archaeological expedition continued excavations on an area of 64 square meters. As a result of the research, about 40 stone axes were discovered, in an earthen vessel dating back to the Late Bronze Age, a children's grave with 5 bronze necklaces and a burial mound were found. The archaeologist also informed the participants about the remains of pottery and stone structures found in th Plovdagh settlement.

Within the framework of the event, archaeological materials discovered in the study area by the archaeological expedition of Kharaba Gilan were presented to the attention of the participants through video images.
