Report meeting was held at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS

ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) held report assembly devoted to the scientific and organizational activities for 2014, December 24, 2014.

In a joint meeting of the Department of Earth Sciences and Scientific Council of the institute was attended by President of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Akif Alizadeh.

Speaking on report, Deputy Director of the institute for scientific affairs, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Dadash Huseynov said that the current year was marked by the holding of elections in the corresponding members and active members of ANAS.

From the staff of the institute were elected 2 active members of ANAS and 3 corresponding member, which is a high assessment of the institution for his merits in the development of science.

He also noted that this year was held 25 research papers devoted to solving 5 problems and covering 15 topics, 12 of which were carried out to obtain 2 important scientific results. Also holds 7 grant projects, and research to 9 grant projects is underway.

In addition, our scientists have published 37 scientific articles in international journals. 17 of them were published in journals c impact factor.

Dadash Huseynov also noted that the young scientists of the institute have been trained in research institutions in the countries such as Germany, Turkey, Russia, and participated in conferences and seminars.

Speaking at the meeting, Akif Alizadeh said that there is a need to create Techno parks in ANAS, also need for cooperation with foreign scientists, hold regional studies on the ecosystem and groundwater resources of the territory from the Black Sea to the Caspian.

Academician also noted the need to use the potential of young scientists in the staff policy.
