92 out of 107 tree species and 170 out of 242 shrubs in Azerbaijan can be found in the rich forests of Karabakh.
Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences Eldar Novruzov said that there are rare species of trees in the forests looted by Armenians.
Leading researcher of the Institute of Geography, Doctor of Philosophy in Geography Mirnuh Ismayilov said that the Karabakh forests were cut down, burned, the flora and fauna were destroyed, and Kalbajar and Zangilan districts suffered the most from this process.
