Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev's monograph "Chukhurdere lakes and former Iodine-Bromine Plant (past, present - a continuation of environmental policy in the country)" was presented online.
Opening the event, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Goshgar Mammadov said the book was dedicated to the cleaning of Chukhurdere lakes from oil deposits in the territory of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. He noted that in 2018, as a result of field research and laboratory analysis, great work was done on the territory of the former Iodine-Bromine Plant.
Then the head of the laboratory of the institute, associate professor Farhad Sadigov said that the area of oil-contaminated lands in the Absheron Peninsula is more than 25,000 hectares.
