Acting director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agro Chemistry of ANAS, academician Garib Mamedov  took part in the online international scientific-practical conference "XXIV Dokuchaev’s youth readings” devoted to the 175th anniversary of the birth of V.V. Dokuchaev and the Year of Science and Technology in Russia in St. Petersburg.

Academician G.Mamedov made a report on "Soil Science in a Digital Society" at the conference. He noted that Dokuchaev is one of the greatest scientists who has left a multifaceted and deep creative legacy to world science and is considered the founder of the doctrine of natural lands, which is a new direction in natural science. Dokuchaev’s works play an invaluable role in the development of geographical research, including the study of the Caucasus.

Scientists from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan made reports and held discussions at the conference.
