Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An expedition team consisting of specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and SOCAR will determine the impact of oil and gas fields operating in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea on the Caspian Sea and the environment from March 31 to April 9, 2021. In order to study the hydrological and hydrochemical situation, biological resources, as well as to obtain the necessary information to assess the current environmental situation, the ministry conducted a comprehensive research and monitoring with the research vessel "Alif Haciyev".

Leading researcher of the Hydrobiology Laboratory of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Suleyman Suleymanov and junior researcher of the Ecotoxicology Laboratory of the Institute of Physiology named after academician Abdulla Garayev Farhad Rustamov also took part in the expedition.
