Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An online conference on the occasion of the birthday of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was organized by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences and the Women's Council of ANAS.

Opening the conference, the vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the life of academician Zarifa Aliyeva, her services to the world ophthalmology. He noted that Zarifa Aliyeva's rich heritage, research in various fields of medicine, fundamental works are the achievements of Azerbaijani medical science.

Then, Deputy of the Milli Majlis, Professor Hijran Huseynova introduced Zarifa Aliyeva against the background of the environment in which she grew up.

Vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova spoke about Zarifa Aliyeva's exceptional services in the development of ophthalmology. She noted that the scientist had great merits in the study, prevention and treatment of eye diseases, which were once widespread in Azerbaijan in connection with professional activities in the chemical and electronic industries, as well as in the study of modern problems of ophthalmology. She noted that the prominent scientist was the author of 12 monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, about 150 scientific articles, 1 invention and 12 rationalization proposals...
