ANAS Institute of Geology hosted the next assembly of ANAS Department of Earth Sciences(DES). Opening the assembly with participation of bureau members and institute directors, academician-secretary of DES corresponding member of ANAS Fakhraddin Gadirov informed about the issues on the agenda. In the assembly of ANAS Board of Directors on November 12 were discussed the issues of changes to the format of the annual reports of the institutions and organizations of ANAS, regular meetings in order to strengthen the activities of departments, meetings with the participation of experts from relevant government agencies, delivery of scientific-research works, innovative results to the both the country and world community, he noted.

According to the F. Gadirov, in the Board meeting held on November 20 were discussed an action plan in preparation for the 70th anniversary of the Academy, adoption of the state program of scientific staff training, establishment the high school of young talents and university attached to the academy, construction of techno park for innovative natured scientific researches, laying the “Scientists Campus “. He noted that it is planned to conduct the First Congress of Azerbaijan scientists, the preparation of the congress web site, to publish a guide book “Azerbaijan scientists”, to hold an exhibition dedicated to the achievements of the scientists.

The list of 8 young scientists nominated by Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to “President's Award for Youth” will be submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports by December 1, said F. Gadirov.

Event also discussed to carry out grant projects of the State Oil Company of AR Science Foundation.

Later on, director of Republican Seismological Survey Center Dr. geology-mineralogyGurban Yetirmishli‘s lecture “Utilization of Passive seismic monitoring in formation of hydraulic cracks in the productive layers of oil and gas beds through mobile seismic stations” was attended.
