Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

As we know, the resolution of ANAS Presidium dated 19, 2014 approved the new structure of Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Researches, including the Academic council for historical problems.

New Board includes well-known scientists and experts, representing the fields of history, archeology, ethnography and other relevant scientific fields.

On February 27, 2015 was carried out the first meeting of the Academic council for historical problems.

The event was opened by Chairman of the Board, corresponding member of ANAS Shahin Mustafayev, who told about priority directions of scientific policy in Azerbaijan, as well as the recent reforms carried out in an academy.

Then, Sh. Mustafayev acquainted the attendees with the main points of the Statue approved by Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Researches for the purpose of settlement the work of the Problem councils founded in various scientific areas.

Sh. Mustafayev, noted that the Academic council on for historical problems possesses a wide range of powers, informed that such important tasks as definition of the priority directions of researches are being set for members of council in the field of history, archeology, ethnography, the international relations, etc., and also carries out scientific researches on the same directions in research enterprises and higher educational institutions of the republic.

It was noted the need of preparation of the short-term and long-term Action Plan for the purpose of successful performance of tasks.

During the event, there was an exchange of views on the creation of the electronic data base on relevant scientific fields, as well as the definition of priority areas and those are in need of research.

During the meeting also discussed topics of theses submitted in specialties such as archeology, history of a motherland, common history, ethnography and ethnology, historiography, source study, methods of research history.
