Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Resource Center of Public Association IDEA (International Dialogue for environmental protection) hosted the event "Endangered species of Azerbaijan flora andnew species described in recent years".

More than 30 young specialists getting the education or working on the specialties: "Ecology" and "Biology", etc. participated in the seminar consisting of theoretical and practical parts.

In theoretical part of the seminar acted the employee of ANAS Institute of Botany, PhD in biology Parvana Garakhanli as an expert, who informed attendees on the endangered species of rare plants and endemically, place names, decorative, medical and economically important cultures.

Within practical part, the participants visited Herbarium, Museum and spectral-analytical laboratory of the Institute of Botany, as well as Central Botanical Garden.

The young specialists examined the principle of work of the equipment used in this laboratory, and also took part in experiments. They have been studied the cultivation methods of plant species in the laboratory and multiplication of endangered species plants.

The two-day seminar caused a great interest of young specialists, and promoted receiving useful theoretical and practical knowledge.
