Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A regular meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held on 5 November.

The meeting was attended by the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, other members of the Presidium - Isa Gabibbeyli, Ibrahim Guliyev, Tofik Nagiyev, Dilgam Tagiyev, Irada Huseynova, Rasim Aliguliyev, Arif Hashimov, Gevhar Bakhshalieva, Fikret Aliyev, Adil Garibov, Fuad Aliyev and the head of the Presidium Staff, Doctor of philosophy in philology, associate Professor Seyfal Hasanov.

Opening the meeting with introductory remarks, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, President of ANAS, outlined the issues on the agenda.

Then Arif Gashimov was nominated for the post of the First Vice-President of ANAS and it was decided at the next general meeting of the Academy that Arif Gashimov would act as the First Vice-President and Academic Secretary of ANAS.

During the meeting, the issues of preparation for the visit to Azerbaijan at the end of November of the delegation headed by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Sergeev were also discussed.

The meeting also discussed preparations for a delegation headed by by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Sergeev, to visit Azerbaijan at the end of November.
