Russian scientist delivered lecture at the Institute of Geography

ANAS Institute of Geography hosted the next scientific seminar. At the event chaired by Ramiz Mammadov, vice-president of the Russian Geographical Society, founder and director of the Ural Institute of Steppe, corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Alexander Chibilyov delivered a lecture on topic "The historical retrospective of Eurasian steppe landscapes". 

Based on field surveys in the semi-rural and rural landscapes characteristic of the natural heritage of Azerbaijan, A.Chibilyov said that, he got acquainted with prevalence of gazelles in Shirvan National Park and Bandovan mud volcano due to investigating natural landscapes. 

Chibilev reported that during the field researches conducted by him in Azerbaijan was studied the characteristics of natural heritage of thesemi-desert, dry steppe and steppe landscapes.

In order to study the monuments of nature in these landscapes scientist got familiar with the geographical distribution of gazelle protected in Shirvan National Park and Bandovan mud volcano. Then the scientist was familiar with the environment of Kura-Araz lowland, plants and animals in Salyan, Mugan and Mil plains and their spreading areal was determined.
