Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Notable composer of Azerbaijan, acad. Arif Melikov was awarded with “Golden medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan on behalf of Nizami Ganjavi” in the General assembly of ANAS.

Honored scientist, People Artist, acad. Arif Melikov’s creativity embraces the sparkle page of Azerbaijan music culture.

Arif Melikov’s "Legend of Love" ballet which was written to prominent Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet’s libretto won world fame. He also authored for "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves," "The Legend of the Heart", "Two hearts, “Yusif and Zuleykha” ballets, including "Symphonic tale", "Fuzuli", "Metamorphoses", "Axirinji ashirim", "Heroic" and other symphonic works, "Waves" operetta.

Musicals written to films and theater plays vital role in creation of A.Malikov. The composer’s musicals written to "Magic gown", "Stars do not fade”, "Rustam and Sohrab", "Axirinji ashirim" movies, and musicals written for "Natavan", "The Atabeys" plays made famous these film and the performances.

Celebrate musician’s works have been performed in many parts of the world - Russia, the U.S., UK, France, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Austria, Norway, Finland, Italy, Egypt, Thailand, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Kazakhstan Moldova and other countries were played.
