The electronic assembly hall of the Institute of Literature of ANAS held event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the scientist-literary critic, a prominent theorist Arif Hajiyev.

The event was opened by the vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli, who presented an extensive report on the life and work of the scientist. Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that literary scientist Arif Hajiyev was a great expert not only of classical literary heritage of Azerbaijan and modern literature, but also literary-theoretical thought in Russia and Europe, stressed that his conceptual provisions of realistic and romantic creative way in the modern Literary perceived as an innovation. Today there is a need to re-refinement stages of Azerbaijani literature. However, this new approach cannot be implemented without resorting to the heritage of Arif Hajiyev. It was noted that a prominent scientist is the author of a number of fundamental works in the field of classical literature, literary relations and literary criticism: “It is safe to note that the basis of scientific creativity of Arif Hajiyev is the theory of literature,” academician noted.

Then, acted MP Elmira Akhundova, who said that a prominent educator A.Hajiyev had great achievements in attracting young people into science and train them as scientists.

At the event, presentations were made by Dr. Philology Aida Feyzullayeva, Naila Muradalieva, Sara Osmanli, Rafiq Novruzov and others. It was noted that the literary heritage of the scientist remains relevant to this day. Research and study of the scientific heritage of the scientist is always the focus of literary science of the country.

In conclusion, on behalf of the family acted spouse Rafiga khanum Hajiyeva who expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.
