Acad. Akif Alizadeh received delegation chaired by president of European Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, corresponding member of RAMS Vladimir Khavinson.
Meeting was attended by Ulduz Hashimova, Dr. Biology, director of the Institute of Physiology of ANAS and Svetlana Trofimova, professor, deputy director for clinical researches of the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, Northwest branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS).
In advance, president of ANAS made speech on collaboration and friendship relations covering various spheres between two countries. He noted that, currently huge successes and development are observed in our country, while informed the guest on the 1st European Games to be held in Azerbaijan.
Having great and honorable history, ANAS will mark 70th anniversary in November of current year, stated Akif Alizadeh and provided information on the vital researches carried out in the scientific ventures and organizations of ANAS.
Then Vladimir Khavinson spoke about longevity problems of human life, application of new technologies in production of new medicines, as well as the necessary staff training in this area. "We keep leadrship for sphere of maintaining bioregulators increasing human resources in both Europe and the world" – said guest and noted the extreme importance of preparations for the restoration of brain function. According to him, extreme factors lead to rapid aging. Eye's retina drug which designed to prevent the negative impacts of extreme factors, also leads to reduction of frequency of animals’ tumors and growth of longevity. V. Khavinson also noted the usage of eye's retina drug for military targets.
Guest highlighted that problem of longevity is of great importance for Azerbaijan Republic and unique base exist there for relevant researches.
ANAS president told about setting up the laboratory engaged in this field on autumn months of 2016 underpinned by V. Khaskelevich. In advance, development program and vital trends should be defined, he noted.
Meeting discussed the issues of anti-aging technology, research in the field of biophysics and bioinformatics in the world, as well as exchanged views on prospects of cooperation between the two institutions.
