ANAS Institute of Control Systems is 50 years

ANAS Institute of Control Systems is 50 years

Conference hall of the Institute of Information Technology hosted the event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of ANAS Institute of Control Systems.

Opening the event President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh reminded that in May 1952, when the expedition Oil Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan was established laboratory. Given the importance of this laboratory conducted research in the field of modeling of processes of oil production in Azerbaijan on the initiative of academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, was decided to open a second in the country after the Soviet republics of Ukraine among the Computing Center, and in May 1965 the center received the status of the Institute of Cybernetics. The existence today of the Institute of Control Systems associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev. As a result, concerns national leader in 1971 at the Institute of Cybernetics was established department "Automated control systems". In March 1982, the department works on the principle of cost accounting became an independent institution, and in 2002 was transformed into the Institute of Information Technologies. Furthermore, it is the Institute of Cybernetics in 1977-1981 years was appointed as the lead agency for the creation of "Republican automated control system", and under the guidance of Academician Ismail Ibrahimov in this area was carried out important works. The institute carried out a series of fundamental theoretical and applied scientific research. Over the past 10 years, the Institute carried out 177 research papers in various spheres, published 3089 scientific papers (including 1363 overseas), 69 monographs (30 of them abroad), received 39 grants, 3 international, 14 national and 14 Eurasian patents . Currently, 25 research laboratories operate in four divisions of the institute. The institute has 4 active member and 3 correspondent member of ANAS, 20 doctors, 70 PhDs and experienced researchers.

Then lecture delivered by the Director of the ISU, academician Telman Aliyev on "Creation and development stages of the Institute of Control Systems." It was noted that under the leadership of academician Akif Alizadeh was drafted a program to create hierarchical intelligent control, robust diagnostic and control systems which able to ensure the profitability of depleted oil fields, managing them online, and applying them to all the country's oil fields. Currently, preparatory works are done by proving the reality of the program. For example, objects have been tested in the fields of oil in Bibi-Heybat, Balakhani and Shirvan OIL, conducted experiments, as a result it is determined that the problem can be solved in 3-5 years. In addition, Department of Earth Sciences of ANAS together with the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, a network of 11 seismic-acoustic stations, and with the support of the Ministry registered at these stations seismic processes which are transmitted online to the monitoring center. These stations of the deep wells recorded seismic processes for 15-30 hours before the earthquake within a radius of 300-500 km, but the possibility is not to determine the focus of the process. At the same station on shallow wells registering process taking place around them, 5-10 hours after them. The proposed network is a perfect tool, with no analogue in the world.

After the report was shown documentary about the history of the ISU.

Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizadeh told about the promising directions of development of the country's information and communications technology (ICT).

Delivered a congratulatory speech the director of the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev noted that according to the requirements of "State Program on implementation of the national strategy for the development of science in Azerbaijan Republic in 2009-2015", the need for reconstruction and development scientific activity based on modern ICT. The relevant institutions of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, including in the IIT is working hard in this area.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the State Commission for Student Admission Maleyka Abbaszadeh, the rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, MP Gulchohra Mammadova, rector of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Yusif Mammadov, professor of the Moscow State Lomonosov University, chief editor of "Mechatronics, Automation, Control" Nikolai Filimonov, president Arctic Academy of Social Sciences (St. Petersburg), Valery Mitko, director of Software International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Bakhtiyar Sirajov, Dokuz Eylül University Dean (Izmir, Turkey) Efendi Nasibov and others talked about history of the institute, conducted research works and received achievements.

In conclusion, the guests got acquainted with the exhibition hall and laboratories ISU.

Note that the event will last 2 days.
