Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Event was held under the project "Horizon 2020" the network of international cooperation with the countries of the Eastern Partnership IncoNet of the European Union Framework Programme by the organization of International relations department of ANAS Administration Presidium on July 1, 2015.

The event, held in the framework of research and innovative development was opened by Deputy Head of International Relations Zarifa Aliyeva. Welcoming the guests, Zarifa Aliyeva spoke about the importance of the "Horizon 2020".

She noted that, there will be discussed issues related to energy and climate change in the countries of the Eastern Partnership, public health and the environment. She emphasized that, the project serves the expansion of international relations and areas on which were held the discussions relied on current program, issues included in the list of social priorities of the European Union for 2014-2020.

Along with the representatives of Azerbaijan the event was attended by scientists and specialists from France, Poland, Hungary, Greece and many other countries.

Then the Greek expert Rafael Koumeri acted. He spoke about the innovative projects which are based on scientific and technological innovations, transnational cooperation and various spheres which are captured in the program.

Stressing that, the project will be able to take part by educational and academic institutions and public and private institutions, the expert pointed out that research in the field of demographic change, health, food security, agriculture, sustainable architecture, bioeconomic dangers, including achieve movement gardening and climate in the area of improvement of society are social successes of the program "Horizon 2020".

Further, director of Regional innovation academy, head of Foreign Relations and Innovation of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, PhD in technical sciences Tofig Babayev told about the possibilities of participation of Azerbaijani scientists in the Framework "Horizon 2020" Programme.

Also T.Babayev made presentation about achievements of Azerbaijan in the projects "Framework programmes-7" (FP7) and "Horizon-2020".

On the second day of the event (July 2) will be held discussions about the requirements that will be presented to the project as well as the types of applications and projects.
