Presidium of ANAS held a regular Bureau meeting of ANAS Department of Agrarian Sciences on July 14.

The event, which was attended by members of the Bureau, was opened by academician-secretary of the Department of Agrarian Sciences Academician Garib Mammadov. Scientist informed about the issues on the agenda.

During the event were presented reports on a semi-annual activity of department institutions in 2015.

The directors of scientific institutions informed of the scientific and organizational works and measures implemented in the institutions for six months, efforts to popularize science, material and technical base of institutions and the results achieved, etc.

Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources, corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akbarov and corresponding member of ANAS Amin Ismayilov gave information about the activity of the Problem Councils ("Scientific Council on the problems of land and water resources and environmental protection" and "Scientific Council on genetics and selection of agricultural plants and animals") attached to the Department.

The meeting also discussed matters relating to the implementation of the "Development Concept of Agricultural science in the Azerbaijan Republic", developed for the organization of agricultural science based on modern approaches and implementation of innovative methods in agricultural research, monitoring Web sites of scientific institutions belonging to the DAS, preparation for the 70th anniversary of ANAS.
