Endocrine Society of Azerbaijan held humanitarian campaign at ANAS Central Scientific Library (CSL).

Mobile team of doctors of the medical center «Azer-Turk Med» conducted the endocrinological survey among employees of CSL and other institutions of ANAS.

At first cared out the educational event devoted to endocrinological diseases. Director of CSL, PhD in medicine Leyla Imanova reported that, the main way of fighting against diseases is undertaking preventive measures.

Next, executive director of the Association of Endocrinology, Diabetology and therapeutic education of Azerbaijan, endocrinologist Murad Mirzazadeh, told about the treatment of diabetes and said that, the main obstacle to the treatment of this disease is its late diagnosis.

He noted that, in the case of neglegted forms of diabetes by treatment it is possible only to stop the disease progression and tendency to develop the disease can be eliminated completely in pre diabetology stage.

Endocrinologist Sevil Mustafayeva spoke about the history of diabetes, and noted that the disease was discovered in the V-VI centuries.

Informing the discovery of insulin in 1923 as a great event in the fighting against the disease in history, S.Mustafaeva said that the main reason for the rapid spread of the disease is associated with metabolic disorders.

Then, the survey campaign began. Professional medical staff of clinic surveying the patients gave them the necessary advice.

Campaign will run for 3 days.
