ANAS Sheki Regional Scientific Center  (SRSC) held event on the occasion of 130th anniversary of genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli and September 18 - National Music Day.

In advance, national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded.

Opening the meeting director of SRSC, PhD in physics-math, senior lecturer Yusif Shukurlu stated that, by the Order of the national leader in 1995 – each year, September 18, birthday of prominent composer, was celebrated as the Day of National Music, and highlighted this day not only holiday of music lovers but also all people.

Prominent composer’s life and creativity, rich heritage, role in Azerbaijan music history, and his innovations to world music were told in the event. Was noted that, 130th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, who merited priceless contributions to the development of Azerbaijan culture, is celebrated in Sheki with chain of events as in all parts of the republic.

Later on, employees of the center delivered lectures on following topics: "History of National Music Day Celebration”, "Azerbaijan's music history", "Sheki’s contribution to National music," "Muslim Magomayev".

In closing, video-slide dedicated to Uzeyir Hajibeyli was displayed.
