On December 6, 2013 at the Govhar Bakhshaliyeva reported about work in the direction of implementation on Order of the President of the country Ilham Aliyev. In connection with the Order of the President Ilham Aliyev on December 23, 2011-year “About an 870-year anniversary of prominent Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami” presented the book of Doctor of Philology, Professor Nushaba Arasli “Stories, parables and stories miniature works of Nizami” and Ph.D. in philology R.Guliyev “Azerbaijan Nizami poetry.” In reporting year G. Bahshaliyeva conducted researches on the subject “Arab sources of Nizami creativity”. Institute has held relevant events for stimulation of scientific activity of young scientists, thus, chief department of History and economy of the Arab countries PhD in History F. Asadov visited to the U.S to carry out researches on the topic “Communications between the Arab Caliphate and the Hazaria Khaganate in Trade on the Silk Way” within the Fulbrayt program, besides continued scientific communications with the Turkish historical society, the Ministry of Ottoman archive of Ankara, the Istanbul university, University of Ankara, University Al-Azkhar in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Cairo university, the Alexandria library, Institute of oriental studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of oriental studies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and with other scientific institutions of foreign countries. Bakhshaliyeva told about carrying out of research works in 4 scientific directions, over 10 problems and 31 topics in report year. Staff of the institute has published 24 books and the monographs, more than 250 articles (51 - in abroad), reports and theses, and also scientific magazines and collections. Within a fiscal year, the staff of the institute had participated in 34 international scientific conferences and the symposiums which have been carried out not only in the republic, but also beyond its borders - in Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Northern Cyprus, the USA, Uzbekistan and Russia. In the current year the staff of institute participated in 115 international and republican conferences and the symposiums which have been carried out in our country. Among the scientific events held by Institute of Oriental studies in 2013, it is possible to note the scientific conference “East Policy of Independent Azerbaijan” devoted to the 90 anniversary of the public leader Heydar Aliyev, international scientific conference “Educators of the Turkic world: M. Akif Ersoy, Guseyn Javid”, international scientific conference “Ways of Development of the Azerbaijani Oriental Studies” devoted to the 90 anniversary of academician V. Mamedaliyev, commemorative events devoted to memory of the prominent orientalist of Aida Imanguliyeva, international scientific conference “Republic of Turkey-90” devoted to the 90 anniversary of the announcement of Turkey by the republic (Together with the Caucasian university), constituent assembly of young scientists and specialists of Institute of the oriental studies, the II congress of young orientalists of CIS countries, a round table “The contribution of Azerbaijan into the world of Oriental Oriental studies”, organized within congress.
