Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics held republicwide seminar on the 60 years of studies of the Neutron Physics Laboratory of the Institute for Nuclear Research in Russia (INR) on October 7.

Event was opened by Deputy Director of the institute for scientific affairs, Dr. Geology-mineralogy Dadash Huseynov, who greeted Prof. Valerie Shvetsov, director of the Neutron Physics Laboratory INR and congratulated him and his staff on this occasion.

Then, guest delivered a lecture on a long-term activity of the lab, including researches, achievements, and vital results. Within the topic, head of High Energy Physics Laboratory of INR, Dr. Sergei Tyutyunnikov reported as well. Data on the researches met with interest by attendees, topic was discussed widely.

Later on, lecture entitled “Highly accurate temperature observations of the Earth's crust: the results and their application (for the territory of Azerbaijan)” was listened. Chief Department of Geothermy of the IGG Dr. Geology-mineralogy Abdulvahab Mukhtarov dealt with results of studies carried out by him.
