October 13 at the Presidium of ANAS was held a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences (DES).

Opening the event, which was attended by members of the Bureau, Academician-secretary of Department of Earth, Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, informing the participants about the issues on the agenda, brought to the attention that the session will discuss the test samples prepared for admission to doctoral studies and doctoral examinations in ANAS.

F.Gadirov gave information about the performance of institutions and organizations of DES in accordance with President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh’s order "On admission to doctoral studies and doctoral examinations on the basis of test technologies in ANAS" on June 9, 2015. He noted that the test technology, widely used in the modern system of education in the country plays an important role in raising the level of knowledge.

The event also discussed issues related to the program of the general meeting of the Department of Earth dedicated to the 70th anniversary of ANAS, which will be held in conjunction with the Scientific Councils of the institutions, appeal of Sheki Regional Scientific Center on admission to doctoral studies, submitted for printing "Stratigraphy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (Directory)" and etc.

In closing, was considered the result of the competition announced for the position of director of the Department of palaeogeography, Institute of Geography.
