Azerbaijan studies the state of integration in the international scientific journal bases

Knowledgebase agency Thomson Reuters (TR), its capabilities, as well as the selection criteria within the framework of scientific journals are the most authoritative source in the evaluation of scientific journals.

This was stated by Director of the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University, Acad. Fikret Aliyev in the report "The State of integration in the international scientific journal bases in Azerbaijan" at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS. He said that information on 3 journals published in Azerbaijan, which are included the knowledge base agency Thomson Reuters, shows that the journal “Applied and Computational Mathematics" - the only journal still has an impact factor. He added that the journal "Theoretical and Applied Mathematics 'Mathematical Society of Turkic World” and "Humanities and Social Sciences of Khazar” by Khazar University were included in the database “Emerging Sources Citation Index” at Thomson Reuters.

According to Academician F. Aliyev, from 300 scientific journals published in Azerbaijan, only 18 meet the technical requirements of the agency Thomson Reuters.

In conclusion, Presidium of ANAS has taken relevant decisions in connection with the report. Academician Fikret Aliyev was requested to prepare and submit to the Presidium of ANAS practical proposals to improve the level of integration into the international database of scientific publications in Azerbaijan, in particular, the scientific journal of ANAS.

Oversight the execution of decisions is entrusted to the Academician-secretary of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences, corresponding member of ANAS Nazim Mammadov.
