Obtained copy of “Ziji-Elkhani” manuscript by Nasiraddin Tusi

ANAS Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli obtained the copy of “Ziji-Elkhani” manuscript by great Azerbaijani scientist Nasiraddin Tusi, which stored in the National Library in Paris.

It is known that, compiled in the XIII century in Maragha observatory, this work is a catalog of celestial bodies. In addition, work provides information about the calendars of various peoples of the world. Another copy of the work is stored in the Institute of Manuscripts as well.

Several pages of "Ziji-Elkhani", which kept in the National Library in Paris, consisting of 126 pages, are of retail, and have not been flipped on right time. Though it has not any date, it could be said that work has been copied in the XV century. There is a note by owner of the manuscript – Sheik Muhammad Ibrahim, on the third page of manuscript. This page also proves that, manuscript has been copied by Khaje Asiraddin ibn Khaje Nasiraddin. The work consists of an introduction and four articles. Each article contains of several chapters.

Played a major role in the development of medieval astronomy, copy of this work, which kept in the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, has been copied in 1404.
